‘This and That’ Gift Bag – with Six Sided Sampler and Flower Shop

By: Bussakorn Mpelasoka, Stampin’ Up! ® Independent Demonstrator, Canberra

One of my colleagues loves travelling and ‘This and That’ journal and ‘Epic Day This and That’ designer stickers seem to be perfect gifts for her.  I like to put a little touch into the gift I give to someone I care about, so I decided to make a gift bag instead of wrapping them with wrapping paper.

This & That gift bag 1

I used the new ‘Six Sided Sampler’ stamp set and the honeycomb embossing folder to decorate the bag so it matches with the hexagons on the journal. I added flowers from the new ‘Flower Shop’ stamp set to make it look a bit more feminine. When I checked the photos, the light doesn’t seem right, but there is nothing else I can do as I already gave the gift away. I thought I should share it with you anyway.

This & That gift bag 2

On the back, I just used stamps from ‘Gorgeous Grunge’ so it is not too plain.

This & That gift bag 3

Bag’s measurement:

Use two whole sheets of A4 card stock. Score each sheet at one and three quarters inches on three sides.

Bag’s recipe:

Stamps: Six Sided Sampler, Flower Shop

Inks: Baja Breeze, Pretty in Pink, Versa Mark

Papers: Baja Breeze, Primrose Petal

Others: Honeycomb embossing folder, Pansy punch, white embossing powder

Kind & Cosy – Floating butterfly card

By: Bussakorn Mpelasoka, Stampin’ Up! ® Independent Demonstrator, Canberra

My project today is a ‘floating butterfly’ card. I used stamps in the new ‘Kind & Cosy’ stamp set to create the gingham ring, hearts and sentiment.

Kind and Cosy_Floating butterfly1

The crushed curry chevron ribbon is to hide the join between plain and emboss
areas. Instead of having ‘made with love’ sentiment in one row, I stamped one
word at the time so they fit on a little tag. The cute hole on the tag was made
using one of the framelits in the ‘Chalk Talk’ framelit set.

I used ‘Beautiful Wings’ embosslits to make the butterfly. The floating circle in the middle is held in place using fishing line.

The floating butterfly concept on this card was inspired by my dear fellow demonstrator, Annette McMillan. Annette made the floating butterfly card as her swap at the convention in May. She used dental floss to hold the butterfly. So if you don’t fish – no worries! Here is the card made by Annette.

Inside of my card, I stamped three hearts on Very Vanilla paper. There is also a butterfly on the circle inside the card

Today’s project is another item in the stationary gift set – a large post it note cover.

Flower Shop and Viola Lace - post it note cover1

The lace on the right is one of the four washi tapes I got from a friend. I finally find a way to make good use from them.

Gorgeous Grunge – Post it note covers

By: Bussakorn Mpelasoka, Stampin’ Up! ® Independent Demonstrator, Canberra

During the past few days I have been working on a few stationary items to give as a gift pack to a team member who was leaving the department for a different job. She is a pleasant and very helpful colleague to work with. I miss her already even though she has just left.

Today and the following few days I will be posting the items in that stationary gift pack.

Today’s items are small Post-it note covers.

Post-it note cover 1

Gorgeous Grunge Post it note cover 1

Gorgeous Grunge Post it note cover 2

It is simple to make. Steps are:

  • Use a stamp in Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to create background in Coastal Cabana ink on Natural White cardstock.
  • Adhere a row of birds (is actually washi tape a friend of mine gave to me recently) in the middle. I think it fits in quite well with everything else here. You can use any washi tape you have or use e.g. a stamp from Tape It stamp set.
  • Stamp bands in Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush. I cut a small long strip of rubber stamp (from the remaining frame of one of the stamp sets) to create these bands.
  • Add three itty bitty flowers in the corner.
  • Mount this Natural White piece on the Coastal Cabana scallop square.

It’s done! See – I told you it is simple.

Post-it note cover 2

Gorgeous Grunge Post it note cover 3

This one is made in exactly the same design, but in more subtle colours (Pool Party & Pretty in Pink). I added a false stitching line around the Natural White piece using black marker.

Gorgeous Grunge Post it note cover 4

This one is in a different design, but the same Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush colours. I used sentiment (Thank you you’re the best) from Hello Lovely stamp set. The mosaic on silver glimmer paper is from Mosaic Madness stamp set.

Memorable Moments card

By: Bussakorn Mpelasoka, Stampin’ Up! ® Independent Demonstrator, Canberra

I CASE this card from the new catalogue (p134). This card caught my attention since the first time I browsed through the new catalogue. I told myself I had to CASE this card.

Memorable Moments card 1

One big problem is …. I don’t have the ‘Memorable Moments’ stamp set! But because I love this card so much I decided to go ahead casing it using the products I have.

If you have the ‘Memorable Moments’ stamp set, you can visit Deena Boos video tutorial, which she has made it so simple to follow.

If you don’t have that stamp set, but love this card a lot (like I do), here is what I did.

  • I traced (with pencil) along the inside of the second (from the smallest) label framelit on Pistachio Pudding cardstock. This will be the cutting line.
  • I used Pistachio Pudding marker to draw along the pencil line on the inside of the label shape. This will appear as if you have used the label stamp from that stamp set.
  • The following steps would be the same, except for the sentiment – use whatever you have to suit the purpose of the card. On this card I used ‘Outlined Occasions’ (retired). I don’t have the ‘Bitty Butterfly’ punch, so I used ‘Beautiful Wings’ Embosslits to create small butterflies.

Memorable Moments card 2

Card recipe:

Stamp set: Outlined Occasions (retired)

Paper: Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe

Ink: Pistachio Pudding (marker), Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe

Other: Itty Bitty Shaped punch pack, Elegant Butterflies punch, Beautiful Wings embosslits, Rhinestone basic jewels

By: Bussakorn Mpelasoka, Stampin’ Up! ® Independent Demonstrator, Canberra

Here is the inside of the card.

Card recipe:

Stamp set: Mosaic Madness, Gorgeous Grunge, Gingham (wheel) and Notable Alphabets

Paper: Natural White, Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush

Ink: Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush

Other: Modern Mosaic embossing folder, Rhinestone basic jewels, Mini silver brads

I intend to make a stationary set for her as a farewell gift. However, this weekend I have had a few activities going on and little time to craft so I have only managed to make a card and a post-it note folder. I will have to make other things for the stationary set during week nights as this Friday will be her last day with us.
