Kind & Cosy – Floating butterfly card

By: Bussakorn Mpelasoka, Stampin’ Up! ® Independent Demonstrator, Canberra

My project today is a ‘floating butterfly’ card. I used stamps in the new ‘Kind & Cosy’ stamp set to create the gingham ring, hearts and sentiment.

The crushed curry chevron ribbon is to hide the join between plain and emboss
areas. Instead of having ‘made with love’ sentiment in one row, I stamped one
word at the time so they fit on a little tag. The cute hole on the tag was made
using one of the framelits in the ‘Chalk Talk’ framelit set.

I used ‘Beautiful Wings’ embosslits to make the butterfly. The floating circle in the middle is held in place using fishing line.

The floating butterfly concept on this card was inspired by my dear fellow demonstrator, Annette McMillan. Annette made the floating butterfly card as her swap at the convention in May. She used dental floss to hold the butterfly. So if you don’t fish – no worries! Here is the card made by Annette.

Inside of my card, I stamped three hearts on Very Vanilla paper. There is also a butterfly on the circle inside the card
