Card kit folder

By: Bussakorn Mpelasoka, Stampin’ Up! ® Independent Demonstrator, Canberra

I made a card kit folder (inspired by that on p121 of the 2012-13 Stampin Up! catalogue) as a gift for everyone who came to my second craft class many months ago. I filled the folder with some card bases, DSP and a variety of embellishments. I used ‘Tape It’, ‘Gorgeous Grunge’ to decorate the outside and ‘Postage Due’ for the inside of the folder. Unfortunately I didn’t take any photos.

Here is another card kit folder that I made, which is of the same style & size, but with different decorations.

I used ‘Flower Shop’ stamp set, and ‘Polka’ and ‘Viola Lace’ wheel stamps for this one.

I also used the dew drop stamp from ‘My Friend’ stamp set to create some background on the ‘Basic Grey’ cardstock, but I didn’t like the look very much so I sponged over it with ‘White’ ink for a more subtle look. You can hardly see it!

You can also use the folder to hold some photographs to give as a gift to family & friends. (I just put a card here for photo taken sake.)

Large post-it note holders

By: Bussakorn Mpelasoka, Stampin’ Up! ® Independent Demonstrator, Canberra

Today’s projects are the large post-it note holders I made as a Christmas gift for some of my colleagues.

The length of A4 cardstock (used ‘Gumball Green’ here) is just a bit too short for the large post-it note, so I had to join a little piece at the bottom. I used this as a challenge to decorate and hide the join. The flowers were made using ‘Floral Frames Collection’ framelits.

The use of linen thread underneath the flower was inspired by Wida’s card below (I love Wida’s unique work!).

I used ‘Early Espresso’, ‘Whisper White’ and ‘Pool Party’ cardstock and a stamp from ‘For the Bird’ stamp set for the second post-it note. The polka dot piece was made using a stencil from ‘Build a Banner Simply Created Kit’.

The leaves on this last one were cut using Silhouette Cameo. The colour don’t look right (it is ‘Bravo Burgundy’ cardstock, leaves are in green, yellow and light brown shades). The light wasn’t enough when I took these photos (and I’m still using a simple automatic camera).

Hexagon post-it note holders

By: Bussakorn Mpelasoka, Stampin’ Up! ® Independent Demonstrator, Canberra

Here are the post-it note holders I made for young(ish) male colleagues.

Hexagon post-it note holders 1

I find it hard to make cards or gifts for men (because I tend to favour cute or sweet designs) so I consulted Pinterest to get some ideas. Pinterest never let me down – I found so many beautiful cards made using Stampin’ Up! ‘Six-Sided Sampler’ stamp set, which I have & love.

Hexagon post-it note holders 2

I had to use medium post-it to accommodate a few hexagons, added a bit of ink splash look at one corner using ‘Gorgeous Grunge’ stamp set and embossed the background piece with the ‘Honeycomb’ embossing folder. Little butterflies were also added (to hide little mess I erroneously made – I was sleepy!).

For the craft cardstock one, I added a swirl (cut using the Silhouette Cameo). Hope this didn’t make it look too girly!

I also made a few large post-it note holders for colleagues who are not so young – will share these with you tomorrow.

Cupcake post-it note holder

By: Bussakorn Mpelasoka, Stampin’ Up! ® Independent Demonstrator, Canberra

I have been very busy lately and haven’t prepared much for Christmas apart from cards for family & friends overseas. Last night I determined to start making Christmas gifts for my colleagues.

I decided to make the post-it note holders because they are useful at work and very easy to make. I chose these cupcake stamps for young(ish) female colleagues (didn’t want it to be in Christmas theme so it can be used all year round). These stamps are cute on their own, no need to design anything!

I made a little Christmas gift tag to go with it. And… it won’t be complete without chocolate so I added a Ferrero Roche, dressed up like a Christmas pudding!

I will post the post-it note holders I made for the young(ish) male colleagues tomorrow.

Christmas cards for our PhD supervisors

By: Bussakorn Mpelasoka, Stampin’ Up! ® Independent Demonstrator, Canberra

Both my husband & I did our PhD at Massey University in New Zealand during the same period, but in different fields. Today’s cards are for our PhD supervisors.

Xmas cards for supervisors 1

Our daughter, Amy was very young when we did our PhD. Before we went to NZ, Amy used to have two house girls looking after her. So life in NZ was quite hectic for us. However, with the support of our supervisors and the love of our family & friends, we managed to achieve our PhD degree in the same year.
