Project Life – Dubai

By Bussakorn Mpelasoka

Now that I finished with the desktop calendar, I decided to continue working on my Project Life album for our last year holiday. I finished working on Dubai a little while ago, but have just had a chance to photograph them.

We didn’t plan to include Dubai as part of our holiday. We flew Emirates across continents. Because the transit time in Dubai on the way back to Australia was quite long we decided to break the trip by staying in Dubai for three nights. It was a good decision and we all enjoy our stay there!

I used all sorts of stamps and tools I have to decorate these pages:

Stamp: Stampin’ Up! ‘Amazing Birthday’, ‘Around the World’ and sale-a-bration ‘Bloomin’ Marvellous’; Paper Smooches ‘Alphadot’ and ‘Needle Little Love’; Lawn Fawn Harold’s ABC’s

Tool: Lawn Fawn ‘Hello’ scripty die and ‘Quinn ABCs’ alphabet dies

Project Life card: Honey Edition and Strawberry Edition

I will post the photos of our dessert tour next time. Thank you so much for stopping by & happy crafting!

Handmade Desktop Calendar – Part 5

By Bussakorn Mpelasoka

Today’s post is the last part of this desktop calendar with November and December pages.

Firstly, I would like to mention that the base of this calendar is 4 1/8” x 5 1/2”. I chose this size so that I can make four sheets (for eight months) out of one A4 cardstock. However, in the end I used old cereal box instead of cardstock as the calendar base. I made a flag shape template and used it to mark the shape for each sheet to get uniformity.

For November page, I used Stampin’ Up! Pool Party coordination cardstock as background, then added a dotted paper (from First edition ‘Blank Canvas’ paper pack).  I stamped the calendar on Very Vanilla cardstock, and added mini paper flowers and die cut leaves on another patterned paper from Stampin’ Up! sale-a-bration ‘Best Year Ever’.

For December page, I used a Christmas tree to decorate the page (as planned, LOL!). I used Stampin’ Up! sale-a-bration ‘Irresistibly Yours’ DSP as the background, swiped over it with Pistachio Pudding ink pad. I used Stampin’ Up! Coastal Cabana cardstock for the tree, but stamped on it with some patterns first.

I am interested to know which page of this desktop calendar that you like. If you have any questions/comments please leave them on the comment spot and I will get back to you.

Handmade Desktop Calendar – Part 4

Today I have calendar pages for September and October to share.

For September, I used Stampin’ Up! ‘Celebrate Today’ stamp set and the matching ‘Balloon Framelits’ dies for the two balloons. The patterned paper with clouds is from Lawn Fawn ‘Hello Sunshine’ paper pack.

For October, I used Stampin’ Up! sale-a-bration ‘Best Year Ever’ DSP, die cut in three circles of different sizes. I drew the lines and added a bow stamp for each circle, which made them look like Christmas ornaments. Usually I don’t plan much about my craft, just go with what came up in my mind. This habit isn’t so good for this one. When I looked back at this page I thought umm… this design would be better for December rather than October, but I decided to leave it as is. Well, I think I will have a Christmas tree for December page.

Two more months to go and this desktop calendar is complete, YAY!

Handmade Desktop Calendar – Part 3

By Bussakorn Mpelasoka

The main feature of July and August calendar pages is the sweet Best Year Ever DSP from Stampin’ Up! sale-a-bration. I love this DSP and have been using it in almost all the projects I made during the past six weeks.

July – I stamped the words ‘love life’ from ‘A Happy Thing’ stamp set, which is another sale-a-bration item, and also added bitty flowers.

For August page, I only added twine tied in a bow and a flower.

Handmade Desktop Calendar – Part 2

I have made the calendar page for May and June, here they are.

Desktop calendar May 1

For May, I used the flower and leaf stamp from Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Basics stamp set, stamped in Versamark and embossed in white, then coloured in Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz. I stamped the calendar straight on the Sahara Sand CS.

Desktop calendar May 2

For June: I used Stampin’ Up! last year sale-a-bration Sweet Sorbet DSP. I stamped calendar on Very Vanilla CS, cut in tag shape. I added linen twine underneath the tag and a small tab in Pear Pizzazz at one corner. I made a little mess on the tag so hid it with sequins.

Wow! it is so much easier to make than I thought. I am sure I can finish it (up to December) very soon.

Handmade Desktop Calendar

Last week I got a new stamp set called ‘Calendar’ from Waffle Flower, so I decided to make a desktop calendar (even though it is now nearly the end of March!).

Desktop calendar March 1

For front cover and inside front cover, I used Lawn Fawn ‘Harold’s ABC’s’ to spell the message, stamped with Versamark and embossed in silver.

Desktop calendar Front 1

Desktop calendar Front 2

I didn’t bother to do January and February, just went straight to March and April. I love that ruffle stretch trim!

What I used:

Paper: Stampin’ Up! Soft Sky, Brushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Best Year Ever DSP

Stamp: Stampin’ Up! Painted Petals, Waffle Flower Calendar

Tool: Stampin’ Up! Flower Garden and Needlepoint Border embossing folders, circle and scallop circle dies, Martha Stewart butterfly punch

Mini pocket album pages – part 5

By Bussakorn Mpelasoka

Today’s post is the last two pages of the mini pocket album, which is made of Stampin’ Up! brown packing paper (similar to the first two pages I posted a while back).

Page 11 – I added a piece of Smokey Slate cardstock at the front pocket.

Mini pocket album page 11a

For the insert, I added vellum on one side to make a pocket for two tags, one with a message (Stampin’ Up! ‘Love You to the Moon’ stamp set) and one for a photo (Stampin’ Up! ‘Sheltering Tree’ stamp set).

Mini pocket album page 11b

Mini pocket album page 11c

I left the other side plain for a photo, only added two photo corners.

Mini pocket album page 11d

Pages 12 – The insert is 4”x4” notecard. At the front, I used Best Year Ever DSP and the words ‘made with love’ is from Stampin’ Up! ‘Kind & Cozy’ stamp set. The inside is for photos.
