Personalise my Kikki K calendar

Bussakorn Mpelasoka: Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, Canberra

I usually make my own desktop calendar from scratch, but I have been so busy during the past several months and couldn’t make one for this 2017 so I bought one from Kikki K. I have managed to personalise some months (for now).

Handmade calendar 2016

Bussakorn Mpelasoka: Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, Canberra

My two friends wanted to make a desktop calendar for 2016. This was what I designed for them to make. I tried to use different tools or techniques for the twelve pages so they had a chance to try different things. We used two Sunday afternoons last December to finish all the pages.

January – shaker frame balloon

February – stencil and embossing paste

2016 calendar_Feb

March – using stamps to create patterned background

2016 calendar_Mar

April – roll roses

May – using thread for finishing touch

June – stencil and white ink pad

July – what to do if you are not in the mood of colouring tiny images

August – masking

September – watercolouring

In My Heart – 2016 Desktop Calendar – December

Hooray, this 2016 calendar is finished! Although I took a bit long, it is still more than half a year ahead – not bad, right? Here is my December page.

I used Stampin’ Up! ‘Scentsational Season’ for the tree and the star and ‘Wishing You’ for the presents.

I adhered two layers of Whisper White paper with torn edge and added dazzling detail on the torn edges to make it look like snow. I know…I know…it is summer in Australia at Christmas, but I still wanted white Christmas on my calendar (LOL).

In My Heart – 2016 Desktop Calendar – October

The theme for October page is Halloween, of course! I love this page very much because I hand drew many items by myself – the witch hat, broom, pumpkin and the ghost. (I had to because I don’t any stamps of these images.)

In my heart_desktop calendar_Oct 1

I first created stripe background in white, Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe, using sponge and post-it note. Then I added any Halloween components that popped in my head. I also added glitter on the witch hat using Wink of Stella brush and a bow on the broom, using a die from Stampin’ Up! ‘Balloon framelits dies’.

This turned out to be a cutie Halloween, rather than a scary one!

In My Heart – 2016 Desktop Calendar – September

Today’s post is my September page.

I couldn’t think of any special date for this month. I just chose the message love live, using the wooden cut out heart and alphabets I got from Typo. Only three more months to go and this calendar is done!

In My Heart – 2016 Desktop Calendar – August

I am a bit slow with this desktop calendar, but I am now more than half way. Here is my August page.

I circled the 20th which is my dad’s birthday. I saw the saying that I wrote on the green tag years ago while I was studying in New Zealand. I love the saying very much and still remember it by heart.

In my heart_desktop calendar_Aug 2

The funny looking edge of the tag is made from a die that came with a stamp set called ‘Sew Happy’.
